It’s that time of the year again! Leaves everywhere, crisp autumn air, warm apple cider, kids running wild, okay… that last one is year round. Let’s be honest.
Here is a fun, simple craft that you can do with kids of all ages! If your little(s) can walk and collect leaves with you, invite them to do so! Keep reading to learn what you need and how to make these!
Supplies Needed:
Leaves! Invite your kids to collect leaves with you! This will make the crown personal to them as they choose the leaves that they like best and it will be a great way to explore nature together.
Poster or construction paper. You will want something sturdy enough to be the base of the crown.
Scissors. (My scissors went missing, so I am using these fancy pants scissors ;P)
A glue gun or tape. Double sided tape would likely be best, but if you don’t have any on hand, regular tape will work fine.
String.
A hole punch.
Step 1:
Take your paper and cut it long ways to the desired width you want the crown. This will likely depend on the size of your little and what. kind of leaves you use (with bigger, fuller leaves, you’ll probably want a more wide crown than if you had smaller, less full leaves. But! There’s no right or wrong way to do this!)
Step 2:
Take your hole punch and punch one hole at either end of your paper. Next, tie your string on the holes. The length of your string will vary based on the size of your child’s head. Cut any excess string off.
Step 3:
On your table or workspace, organize the leaves how you would like them to look on your crown. Once you have that figured out, glue or tape your leaves together and cut the stems off. (You could skip this step entirely and just glue/tape on leaves as you go!)
Step 4:
Take your leaves and glue or tape them to the paper part of your crown.
Viola! Now you have made a leaf crown!
I hope you have fun crafting this with your littles! These are the days ❤ If you make this, comment below and let me know how it went! I absolutely love hearing from you all and engaging with you!
Be blessed, you crafty people.
