Let me start by saying that this chicken coop has been a labor of love! (And we are still buttoning things up on it here & there!) I can’t even tell you how long I have dreamed of owning a little piece of quiet property, placing a chicken coop on it and watch my chickens peck the ground as the sun beams on them. Oh, what a dream this has been!
My husband crafted this coop with his own, hard working hands, and it makes this little hen house that much more special to us. It took us quite a while to complete this project, since my husband would leave for work at 4am, come home in the evening & dedicate the last few hours of daylight he had to work on this coop.
Once my husband completed all the “man work” he turned the reigns over to me & I was able to start decorating! This is my favorite part of any project him & I do together 😉 I wanted to stick with a boho farmhouse feel. It’s a theme I carry throughout my home, and feels very true to us as a family. We’re all a little hippie, a little redneck.
To say we were all glad when it was finished is an understatement! Plus, our chickens & ducks were outgrowing their brooding boxes, and fast! Just in time, we got them in their new home & they settled in so happily.
I can’t wait to share our chicken chasing venture’s with you all on here! I think this will be a blast to share what we have learned to do and what not to do!
