The Untamed Farm Story
The Comers
Jacob and Ashley met in high school and married shortly after. They had always dreamed of a homestead and small farm of their own, but with Jacob being active duty military, their dreams couldn't transpire right away. After Jacob's military term ended, they moved to a small town in Michigan where they slowly but surely are aiming to become more self sufficient and get their small farm of the ground.
Since being married, Jake and Ashley have welcomed four children into this world in the comfort of their own home, a set of twins included! They own a slew of animals that include dairy goats, chickens, a rabbit, and a dog. Jake is a logger for a local Amish company while Ashley spends her days loving, caring for, wrangling, and schooling their barefoot, untamed children. That's just the way they like it.

Ashley bakes sourdough bread and sells her sourdough starter, "Flora," to share with other families across the United States. She hopes to someday teach sourdough classes online to share the art of sourdough. When she's not covered in flour, she enjoys being barefoot on the farm, spending quality time with her family, drinking egg yolk coffee, and cooking nourishing food in her kitchen. Her kitchen is her favorite spot to be.

Jacob works hard and doesn't quit until the job is done right. Ashley often comments how she's never seen a harder worker than Jake. When he's not at work logging he enjoys hunting, fishing, carpentry, talking about and shooting guns, and he really loves to be with his family. He doesn't shy away from a good political debate every now and then, either!
The children spend their days playing with each other and playing outdoors. In the summer months, they love to be outside with the animals and helping in the garden.
The Farm
Untamed Farm is tucked away in a small town in Michigan. Currently, the farm is home to alfalfa hay fields, highland cattle, dairy goats, Sebastopol geese and chickens who lay a beautiful array of rainbow eggs. (Ashley has a sweet spot for a beautiful basket of multi-colored eggs ranging from blues to greens to pinks to deep browns.)
Jake and Ashley's long term goals are to farm full time, Lord willing- raising cattle, pigs, and sheep. They trust that The Lord will direct their path! Regenerative agriculture and sustainability are very important to them. They enjoy learning about how they can leave the soil better than they found it, so that their farming practices truly better the world around them.

They are passionate about loving people hard and loving animals well. There is something so important and sacred about the quality of food we eat and having a relationship with the food before it's harvested, to really get the chance to connect with our food and know where it comes from. To gather around a table, face to face, with the people you love and share a meal. This all is something they hope to be able to pass down to their children and share with you!
The Story Behind The Name
While searching for the "right" name, aside from praying about it, Jake and Ashley wanted something that encompassed who they were and how they lived. Not only that, but they wanted the name to be memorable and catchy. One day, the word untamed popped up in conversation. This was it! The Comer's feel they fit the description well due to their untamed way of living. Nearly everything they do seems to go against mainstream living. They drink raw milk, they eat organ meats, they choose to have their babies at home, they encourage bare feet in the summer because a little dirt never hurt, and they believe they are the gatekeepers of their own health and well-being.

The way Ashley creates in the kitchen might resemble an untamed
cook.
The way Jacob crafts with wood is similar to an untamed carpenter.
The way Jake and Ashley raise their children is a bit untamed.
In society's eyes, the Comers are surely untamed.
And they love it that way.

They hope you live life to the fullest. Live life untamed.
